Anja Schubert
lives & works in Germany - Dusseldorf
life and work
My works seek to capture a thought, a touch, a memory.
I create fragile creatures that fall out of time, caught in a movement, a moment, a gesture of stillness emerges.
In a lengthy process of finding and experimenting, I give my idea a form. I test materials and develop new artistic techniques to bind delicate and ephemeral things.
I would like to enable the viewer to grasp my work emotionally and to continue to feel it.

“Anja Schubert's works are sculptural phenomena. They are creatures that have a tactile and delicate impact on their viewers, creating moods and even setting the mood in a room. Her works are at the same time something that has become rigid and strengthened. They have entered an intermediate stage in which the emptiness has materialized and covered an ideal form like a white veil.”
